Today's activities:
1st Stop: Musical Highway: It's not marked, (at least nothing that I could see) it's easy to miss and it's about 20 seconds if you go the assigned speed of 45 mph. But it was a lovely way to start the morning (I literally stumbled upon it)

3rd Stop: Amarillo Texas: 2 reasons to stop here:
- Cadillac Ranch- I pulled in to the parking just as I passed the 3000 mile mark for this road trip. I celebrated by painting my initials on a Cadillac. The installation was mostly swamped in with water. Only 1 car was available to paint unless you planned to get wet--I didn't. There were plenty of left over spray paint cans available, so don't feel pressured to bring your own if you aren't picky on color.

2. Helium Time Columns: Built in 1968 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the discovery of Helium, each leg has a time capsule from the 1960's in it. One to be opened 50 years later, one 100 years later, and one 1000 years later.
Pros: Free parking, free breakfast (though I'm not a morning burrito fan so I don't think I'll have it), TV, mini Fridge and microwave in room, Clean linens, Desk with chair and lamp,
Cons: Couch pillows as bed pillows again-I don't get why this is a thing, very slow wifi, TV face a single chair- this feels inconvenient, whole room smells like chlorine, dripping water sound the whole time, A/C is lacking-it's here but doesn't work well.
I had hoped to get BBQ tonight- but again, Everything except fast food seems either be closed on Tuesdays or closed early on Tuesdays (I got in around 5pm) so fast food it is. It happens.
Signing off for now
