July 5, 2016

And on the 7th day he rested. This pretty much sums up most of our day. We didn't wake up until 10:15, which was good as J had gotten so little sleep the night before.  The lack of hot water for a shower or coffee kept us from really getting going until 11am.

We went into Hoedspruit and got groceries at the pick-n-pay. We picked up a few sweets as well. Just finished my honey comb treat upon returning home from safari.

At 2pm we went on the cheetah tour at the endangered animal project. The guided knew everything about each of the individual animals, it was very impressive. After the tour, but at the same location, we did a big 5 safari in an open caravan. While on the big 5 safari, we saw lots of lions, a hippo, many giraffes, a few rhinos, and many others. I saw the whole cast of Lion King in real life-- simba, Nala, timon, pumba, and zazu.

It's about 7:30 pm and we are back at camp. J is attempting to make dinner, steak from the place down the road, where they can literally sell you the whole cow--I saw it, it's in the walk-in, but for us, a few steaks and some ginger tea, and we will be fine.

After dinner, was the attempt at a shower. J braves the first go round with unruly temperatures.  By my turn it was bearable. Short shower, off to bed for an early morning tomorrow.
