I interrupt the previously scheduled blog for a dose of...

REALITY.

For the last week I have been off the grid and blissfully ignorant to the continually spinning world.  Unaware of 2 police brutality shootings, unaware of the mass shooting of officers doing their jobs by protecting a peaceful protest, unaware that a man was shot in my back yard, by cops whose patrol starts less than a mile from my home, by police I have unknowingly counted on to keep me safe.

Philando Castile was shot inside his car, 5 miles from my home in the falcon heights area, on the intersection of laupenture and fry.  That's less than 2 blocks off the road I took home from work everyday.

I have not watched the video, honestly I am not ready to. I still have another week before I am back in Minnesota, with no idea what I am going home to, wanting to help, but having no idea how.

The tipping point has been crossed in our country, how we handle it will determine the type of future we want and the type of people we are.
