The Wait
I was the PERFECT age for the Harry Potter series.
The first book came out when I was 8 and the last book came out my senior year of High School. I grew up with and on these books. I have core memories connected to standing in long lines at bookstores waiting for midnight releases. But I also don't remember being torn apart waiting for the next one. Excited when it came out- Yes, wrecked having to wait for it- No. So this mean that I had more patience as a child than I do now.
Because now when I make the mistake of starting a series that is incomplete I am frustrated when I see the author doesn't have a planned release for the next book in a series. It doesn't help that I really love a good Graphic Audio it really is a movie in your mind and those take 6 months to a year to come out AFTER a book is initially released. So I wait for Rebecca Yarros to put pen to paper for the 4th and 5th installments of the Empyrean Series and for Sarah J. Maas to complete another ACOTAR book. In the mean time I have a laundry list of Historical Fiction to read and will enjoy books that wrap up nicely in a 6-12 hour listening time.
