#TeamProjectPan July 2022 Update

Same goal different month- Foundation, Sunscreen and my shampoo and conditioner.

I was successful. I used up 2 sunscreens and decluttered 2 more. I used up the shampoo and conditioner from Gisou.

A lot of products came in this month though so my net didn't change much.  I repurchased my favorite Sunday Riley products after the not fun try with Prescription strength Retinol. I also got new sunscreen and face wash as I actually ran out (There's a first time for everything).

I used up a few additional products and have continued to make progress on a few things in rotation. As always the cost listed is the repurchase cost-not necessarily what I paid for it.

Ending this month a little early- I leave for Ireland everything I complete on my travels will be added to the August list.

Empties

Coola SPF 30 Body sunscreen In Tropical Coconut.  This is a very thick very white sunscreen.  I would not recommend this for anyone with melanin. I consider myself "Transparent White" and it make me look whiter than I am. The pro of this is that I know if I missed any spots. It also smells nice-though the do make unscented versions.  $28

Tatcha Rice Wash I've been using this product on and off for the last year.  I use to love it, but I don't feel like it's doing much if anything for my skin at this point.  At the beginning I could tell it made a big difference and made my skin brighter, but I don't feel it's hydrating enough for me. I would like something a little more gentle and ideally without fragrance- but that isn't a deal breaker as it's washed off.  $36.

Dr. Kerklaan CBD relief cream I had a 1oz version. Its okay, not as good as my green goo, but it works for about 30 minutes. I used it a few times a week and had about 1/3 of the tube left heading into July. I finished it up about a week into the month. I got this in my last fabfitfun box, I would not purchase for myself it's basically a eucalyptus smelling cool cream- beyond that it doesn't do much of anything. Certainly not worth the price tag $39.99

Tony Moly The Black Tea Serum I had a mini- which I can no longer find for sale, but it breaks down to about a $5 size. I really liked this. I use it on nights I don't do Retinol and I enjoy the way my skin looks when I wake up. But I don't think I am willing to spend $46 dollars on it as it does have tea tree oil and I know my skin cannot handle too many days of that. $5

Tula Protect and Glow SPFFinished about half in June.  Now that the school year is over I use straight sunscreen over foundation most days. I put it on first thing in the morning before my daily walk, and then will reapply later in the day if I go out for an extended time again. I found no issue with this product for 80% of the days I used it. It left a significant glow so if thats not your thing you wont like this. But as someone with dry skin it's a dewy factor I really enjoyed.  The last 20% I found it stung upon application and for about 20 minutes there after. I chalk up a lot of that to my reaction to Tretinoin and the recovery from that, but if you have sensitive skin this product may not be for you.  $36

Benefit Cosmetics: Precisely My Brow This is probably my 4th precisely my brow that I've finished  I love this product and use about 1 a year.  I use 3.5 Medium Brown. That being said I am panning my stash so I will be switching to a Sephora brand product that seems to be fairly similar, and who knows, if I love it I could save myself $12 a year. $24

Gisou Honey Infused Hair Wash- I really liked this product when I first tried it out. I felt like it got my scalp clean in a way other products didn't; and while that's still true by switching to it full time my hair has become so dry and the conditioner from this line did nothing to help with that. There is nothing hydrating about this product line. This is not a shampoo I would recommend as a regular product, but rather a 1x a month treatment. I do have another bottle and will be using it for that purpose in the future. $37

Gisou Honey Infused Conditioner- I had high hopes for this, but just have not been impressed. I feel like it isn't providing any hydration to my hair and just leaves my ends feeling stripped of moisture. The lovely smell is the only thing it's got going for it.  For $34 there are much better conditioners on the market.

It Cosmetics Illuminating CC Cream in Fair - I started trying to pan this in May with 1/3 left. After a full month of use (M-F) it still had about 1/5 left going into June- where I used it 12 times, I had 6 more uses in July. I finally finished it half way through July. The pro of this is that 1 tube will last you 6 months with regular use, the con is I haven't tried much else. $42

Progress

NCLA Cuticle Oil- I love this product. This is not my first bottle of it. But 1 bottle last s a long time.  I've been working on this one since March and I've only used up about 3 of 12 mils. I use it about 1x a week. I want to use it more as I really do notice a difference; especially in my toe nails. I've tried a lot of cuticle products and this one is worth the $18 price tag.

Hempz Original Lotion June was more like "Junuary" in terms of weather, but now that we are safely in summer I'm only using this lotion 1x a week or it's just too much. I love the smell and will repurchase when I finish likely in the early fall.

Marina Facial Oil Its very moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling and looking brighter. I had about 1/3 of the bottle left coming into July. I find I really enjoy the lightweight moisture that it provides over my very thick cream moisturizers due most likely to the heat and lack of A/C in my home. I didn't use it often in July, but see no issue finishing it by the end of the year.

Bite Mini Mascara- One of many minis I want to use. I feel like a good mini can last me 3 months if I actually like the formula and I do actually like this formula, it's very lengthening and lasts for at least 10 hours in the summer which for a non-waterproof product is about all I can ask for. (It may last longer but thats the length of my day in the summer)- but none of that matters because Bite Beauty has bit the dust and is no longer in business.

Perversion Volumizing Mascara- Currently my favorite mascara. I've owned several over the years, I'd like to find a dupe for it though because it is pretty expensive.

Earth Stone SPF 30 I had high hopes for this because the spray head looked identical to my favorite hair spray which has the most perfect mister.  Sadly thick mineral sun screen just doesn't come out the same. This formula would best be in a pump.  It's a fine sun screen, it is white and will have flashback on camera but so do most body sunscreens. It smells nice and doesn't leave my skin greasy which are the redeeming factors.  I wouldn't buy it again, but I can certainly use it up.

Missha Soft Finish SPF50/PA+++- Korean skin care is the best and so far I'm loving this sunscreen. It's light pink in color and quickly blends into skin.  No noticeable flash back. It does leave a soft focus finish as advertised. I don't really wear make up in the summer so I cannot comment on how it does under foundation- but I'm liking this so far.

Farmacy Clearly Clean Cleansing Balm I've previously used up 2 Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balms and decided to switch to the fragrance free version this go round. There are a few different brands I'd like to try minis of because I've heard good things, but if they don't work out I'll switch back to the original green clean- there is clearly a formula difference, I don't feel Clearly Clean gets my face as clean- and I kind of miss the scent. I've got probably 4-6 weeks left of the Clearly Clean left.

Declutter

Coola Setting Spray 30 SPF  I remember last year putting this in my car thinking I'd use it more out in the world and I haven't used it once.  I really truly hate the smell of this product.  Its like regular sunscreen smell on steroids-very unpleasant.  Also I'm not setting my face with anything mattifying at this stage. So half done at least 4 years old and out the door. $36

Coppertone Clear Zinc SPF50- From what I can tell this is the same sunscreen with different packaging.  They no longer make the clear claim- which is good- because it's not.  So white and streaky.  Either my product has gone off or the claims has always been false. It leaves a significant white residue and caused itchy dry skin for both me and my husband, so even though we only finished about 2/3rds I'm calling it quits.  $8

Molton Brown Body Wash Mini:  I thought it was just Rhubarb- but it also had rose so it had to go.  They sell in sets with other minis and it breaks down to about $3 each.

Incoming

I had major reactions to the Vitamin C and Retinol I tried after using up my Sunday Riley. So I'm back to my favorites- yes they are expensive- yes it's worth it to me. I don't have children I have my skin care! I did find my research and found a coupon for 15% off and I also got 10% Cash Back. So cost was about $150 instead of $170 and I got $15 cash back through Rakuten. Which if you are still somehow not using it, please consider using the link I put in.  You get $30 with your 1st $30 spent using their extension and I get $30.

2 new sunscreens- Now to be clear I consider sunscreen an essential product, but I also admit I own a lot of sunscreen. I got 2 new ones this month: Missha All Around Safe Block SPF 50 (my face), Beauty by Earth Mineral Sunscreen for my body. $37.39 I also picked up a sunscreen for my hubby, but I wont include that in my project as it is for him and is very pale sensitive skin and again is an essential product.

I did it, I finally ran out of face wash- so I am trying something new La Roche Posay Lipikar Wash AP+ It has all the things I'm looking for and is supposed to be great for super dry skin.  I'll keep you updated. $14.99

Shaving Cream - $12.99 this was a need and will likely last the whole year and Sunless Tanner $10.99 this was a want likely to last a long while.

Running totals:

Empties: 44 + 9 =53     Declutters: 53+3=56

$960.50 + 281.99=1242.49       $827.98+48=875.98

Goals for August:

I started this month out of the country but as for the rest of the month I hope to get use of sunscreens, play around with eyeshadows, finish up my foil samples, and slowly move back towards foundation every day at the end of the month as the school year approaches- Pick out the next foundation to pan
