#TeamProjectPan2022 March update

Well, at the end of February, we came home from vacation to find we had mice in our brand new home.  UGH.  As a result several things were decluttered out of necessity. Additionally we started the month staying in a rental while we dealt with those issues.  So not as much progress as I wanted as I continued to live out of a suitcase for longer than anticipated.

Empties:

Ivory oak Soap- Took a sample bar ( Pumpkin) on vacation with us to use because I like the way it leaves my hands very soft. We nearly finished it in Hawaii, but had a bit left- thank goodness (because the next order isn't here yet and the mice ate my soaps)

Smashbox Setting spray- Called this one DONE mid month- there is still a little left in the bottom, but the way its coming out of the spay bottle is no longer effective and is actually problematic (clearly a clog) but too little product left to do anything about it.  When I had oily skin I really liked this, but find it doesn't play nice with some of my dewier foundations. I will not buy again.

Smashbox Foundation Stick- This link is just to show the product (clearly not my color) as it has been discontinued.  I really do like this foundation for light to med cover days.  I just will never understand why they put equal amounts foundation and contour in the packaging when you use up foundation 3x faster.  SO I have finished the foundation (after several years- no judgement please 2 of those were pandemic and masking) and have over half the contour left. It's time for it to go.

Progress:

Pan sizes are increasing on bronzer and highlighter.  Bigger dips in the blush I use and with the removal of mask mandates I am finally starting to wear lipstick again. I'm letting my students pick the colors I wear each day. Forcing me to use colors I would never normally wear (but somehow own-yes I have a problem). Typically by mid-day I've switched back to the mini-lipstick I keep in my purse so I can still make progress on the mini-lip project.

Making progress on sunscreens. Trying to remember to use it every day, but mornings are hard so mostly I focus on the weekend when I'm actually outside.

Slow but steady progress on lotions/moisturizers- this has become my kryptonite but I didn't buy any this month and am working to use up what I have by keeping 2 lotions at work (1 in each room) , 1 in my car.

Declutter:

Ivory Oak Soaps- Mice really liked these, they ate a lot of them. So those had to go.  I love this brand I have ordered more, it was sad to have to throw out products I love

Lume Soap- Didn't even get to try these, but the mice ate right through the box and into 2 bars of soap.  I'm not a huge fan of their other products though I'm using up what I can, so I won't be repurchasing this.

Lume Cream Deodorant- I really liked this at first it was easy to apply and gave me more flexibility to put it anywhere that deodorant was needed.  However after a few weeks I started to notice that I was breaking out and getting a rash everywhere I used it.  I stoped for a few days and my skin cleared, so I think that as much as I like it to start, it just isn't for me.  I only had a sample size and finished about 2/3rds.

Shiseido Face Cotton- Mice got into the packaging.  So the whole thing had to go.  Already have a back up in drawer they cannot get to, I love these products for toner and getting off any stubborn mascara.

Purlisse Pumpkin Ginger mask- 1 it's over priced. 2 even after multiple rinses I felt like my face was still gritty. 3. Smell overwhelming.  I used it twice and then decluttered.

Flesh 5 a lipstick by Pat McGrath- I have been nothing but disappointed with the brand. This lipstick isn't old but it has changed, it now smells like a crayon (a sign it's gone off) and wears really inconsistently.

Flesh 3 BALM Unlike the lipstick, I actually liked this formula. However it was SO SOFT that it broke, and in the mini size I couldn't be bothered to put it in a different container, so with the little nub left I just chucked it in the bin.

2 make up brushes-  My 2 foundation brushes were getting to the point I felt like I couldnt get them clean.

Give away- Any product sample or otherwise that says it has lavender or rose scents in it. I have friends at work that like that and I'm happy to send those things to people who will use them.

Goal for April-

Mini-Lipstick project: Focus on 1 mini-lip product for a week at a time, if I like it- I can keep it, if I don't I'll declutter it.

Go through foundations and declutter the ones that expired during the pandemic.  It feels like wasted money so it's hard for me, but there is absolutely no reason to keep something I wouldn't put on my face, because right now it's just wasted space.
