Recovery day

Today was all about recovery.  That waterfall adventure was something but it took a lot out of me and was a firm reminder of how out of shape I have become.  I guess I've got some work to do.

I have a few scrapes and bruises but mostly just sore all over.

This morning I did another morning walk to get my chai and mac nut bread from Hawai'ian Village Cafe

Honestly that's probably what I'll miss the most.  That simple experience has become part of my routine this week and the mac nut bread is SO good.

After breakfast I honestly tried to move as little as possible.  It's been a very long time since I've been this sore everywhere. So when I say low key day, I mean it.  I caught up on the new episode of Grey's and Station 19; etc.

3 images: top image: Blue sign with white and pink bubble letters spelling Miss Arepa and a cartoon figure of an arepa. Bottom left photo: an iced drink that is light brown in color called Agua Panela; bottom right image, and arepa covered in queso fresco wrapped in light yellow paper.
We did take out for lunch.  J went back to Maui Fish Company for tacos and I got a wonderful treat from Miss Arepa located at the other end of the same strip mall.  I had a "Curvy Girl" a chicken and avocado stuffed arepa and an Agua Panela (unrefined sugarcane and lemon juice).

Came back to the condo and ate on the balcony with a view of the ocean.

I went for a mid-day walk in the sun then back in for a hockey game. Yep you got that right hockey game.  You see the Preds (Nashville) play their outdoor game today. So that wasn't even an option.  We had to watch the game.

Our dinner tonight is the thing I've looked most forward to about this trip Mama's Fish House is a place I got reservations for MONTHS ago. They book out 3- 6 months in advance and it's the one place everyone told me I HAD to try.  So in 174 days ago I went on and got reservations for our last night on Maui. I've been waiting 6 months for this dinner.

#TeamProjectPan22 February update

I wasn't anticipating making much progress this month. We moved a lot is still in boxes,  I spent over a dozen days in February with a headache and the goal was to keep my head above water. But as I look back on what I completed and the progress I made I'm actually super proud of myself this month.

I had several things come into my collection this month through my fabfitfun box. They all went straight into my overage bins and I wont be touching any of them until I finish up something. Several hand creams and moisturizers as well as hair care products and a new sunscreen.

EMPTIES:

Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel SPF 50++ I tried this based on a review I saw that said it was a dupe for one of the Supergoop SPFs. I don't think it is, but it is sunscreen so I used it for its purpose daily til it was gone. I would not purchase it again.

Skinfix Barrier+ Moisturizer. I would 100% by this again. I will save the packaging so I can save $10 and just buy the refill, but I've got a few more to use in the meantime so it will be awhile.  I didn't use this daily but I'd guess its a 3-5 month product.

Tatcha Water Cream- This was a deluxe mini and I really tried to like it, I did use it all, but I really dislike the end result of a water gel or cream. They stay tacky on my skin and aren't rich or thick enough for my needs.

Farmacy Cleansing Balm- I LOVE this product.  But frankly I don't need my cleansing balm to be scented.  I'v already repurchased this product in it's scent-free variety and can attest it works just the same. I do a 2-step cleanse (when I'm not completely lazy).  The balm is step 1 to remove make up.  This is by far and away the best cleansing balm I've ever used, it gets off everything- even waterproof mascara. Can't praise it more.

So Many Samples, honestly didn't keep track of everything Only things that stood out as something I want to try for a longer period is the First Aid Beauty Intense Hydration. It was THICK and I love that. But I have both a night and a day moisturizer open that I need to get through first. And the “Peace Out” acne healing dots, because they worked. I don’t get a lot of acne anymore but these would be nice to have on hand when I do.

PROGRESS:

Hitting Pan:

Prism Palette- ABH:  Lure- hit pan in Dec pan size continues to grow; Sphere- Hit pan first week of month, Unity hit pan mid-month.

White Pearl Highlighter by Becca

Original Butter Bronzer - Love this product, excited to be seeing progress on something I wear every day

Natasha Denona Cheek Duo Palette- I hit pan on the highlighter while on vacation. I have a different blush in my palette it's very pink so it's just a little every day, but there is a clear dip.

Never Ending progress:

Toner- Honestly this is probably a 6 month product but I get bored and try new things so I'll just keep plugging along. I'd say I'm probably 1/2 of the way through the product at this point. I really do like it in my current routine.

The saga of the never ending lip sleep mask continues.  I really thought I would finish it up this month.  I was wrong. But I do think by the end of march it will be done.  I wear it day and night and I have a sample size I keep in my bag at work. I really do love this product and already have another ready to go.

Hair Care: Probably another month or 2 left of the products I'm currently using so I'm intermixing sample packets to see if I want to try anything else next month.

Newly opened Products

2 Moisturizers:

DayRephr This moisturizer was based on crowd contributions and input.  It is a very rich moisturizer with a very light finish. Really enjoying it so far. I also strongly recommend Rephr makeup brushes.

Night Farmacy Honey Halo I'd had several samples of this over the last year and purchased one for myself in anticipation of finishing my previous moisturizer. 1) It smells great 2) it's very nourishing

Toothpaste- Trying something new and recommended by friends. No complaints so far. It's just toothpaste right?

DECLUTTERED:

Toothpaste- I don't think I meant to, but I lost it in the move

Elemis papaya enzyme mask- I LOVE this product. But this particular container got "lost" during the move a year ago and had since gone off as noted by a strong change in smell.  I would 100% buy it again, but I've got probably a dozen other mask products I need to use up first.

Aqua Bomb water gel- I hate the way it made my skin feel. It was sticky and never fully absorbed. Would not repurchase.

Juicy Lip Gloss- I cannot believe we all lusted after these in the early 2000's. They are awful. So sticky and unpleasant to wear.  Happy to be rid of it.

Lash Blowout Mascara - IT Cosmetics. This was a deluxe sample. I tried, I swear I did, but this doesn't work for me.  My lashes felt heavy, they kept sticking together and to my bottom lashes. They also looked very crusty.  So I tried many times, but it's just not worth keeping.

Coola Matte Sunscreen- I never really liked this but thought I should try to use it up on vacation, it had completely separated and was a weird shade of yellow so it had to go.

Make up brushes- I got rid of several cheap makeup brushes that I never reach for.  Frankly I'd rather clean the ones I do like more often then have to use cheap ones that are scratchy or don't meet my needs.

Running tally

Empties:    5+5= 10    Declutters:   11+7=   18

42+ 119= $161                115+135= 250

Goals for March-

  1. Use more masks and Skin care.  I have a lot of multi-use mask products and a few single samples.  I'd like to make a dent on that part of my collection as it's an area I tend to forget, but I want to do at least 1 mask a week in March to make progress and see if I even like them.
  2. Hit Pan in at least 1 more eyeshadow from my ABH palettes
